6:11pm: Wednesday have had a good attacking presence but Brighton are still in control Of the game.

6:13pm: First corner for Owls.

6:17pm: Maupay held up the ball and passed to Alzate who crossed it deeply to Bong. He headed it towards goal but Dawson put it over.

6:21pm: Gross plays the ball to Maupay. He took it around the keeper but good pressure from the Owls defender and he tackled Maupay before he could shoot.

6:37pm: The corner didn’t beat the first man.

6:40pm: Murphy crossed it in but Fletcher doesn’t catch it right and Webster clears.

6:43pm: Another corner for the Owls.

6:46pm: Stephens had a loose touch and Fletcher strikes the ball wonderfully and Button makes an excellent diving save. One minute added time.

6:48pm: HALF-TIME: The first half was slow, neither team appeared to be awake with laboured passing. There was two decent chances, one for both teams. The first was a pass from Gross to Maupay. He took it around the keeper and he should have chipped it over the defender but he took too many touches. The second one came to Fletcher in the final minutes of the half which was the result of a loose touch from Brighton’s Stephens and Fletcher forced Button to make a diving save. There needs to be more urgency in the second half from both sides.

7:01pm: Brighton get us underway.

7:01pm: BRIGHTON SUBSTITUTION: Balogun off for Connolly.

7:05pm: Brighton change formation to 4-4-2.

7:08pm: Murphy dribbled forward and had a shot but Button had it covered.

7:09pm: Corner in from Gross and Duffy got his head on it but it was saved by Dawson.

7:10pm: Fletcher looks to have injured his knee. He has been stretchered off.

7:12pm: SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY SUBSTITUTION: Fletcher if off for Winnall.

7:13pm: Lots of pressure from Wednesday after consecutive corners.

7:17pm: Great attacking play from Brighton. Connolly dribbles and then Gross passed it inside to Bong. He crossed it in and after a deflection Gross had a shot and then another but Dawson held onto the ball.

7:19pm: Wednesday hit the post and there’s shaky defending from Brighton.

7:20pm: BRIGHTON SUBSTITUTION: Jahanbakhsh on for Bissouma.

7:21pm: Free kick in a promising position for Wednesday.

7:22pm: GOAL! Sheffield Wednesday lead from training routine set piece. Murphy passes it to Winnall who passes it to Reach and he puts it past Brighton’s wall and into the goal after a small deflection off of Borner. The better side lead at the Amex.

7:28pm: SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY SUBSTITUTION: Murphy off for Harris.

7:28pm: BRIGHTON SUBSTITUTIO: Bong off for Bernardo.

7:30pm: Good corner from Brighton but Maupay headed the ball wide.

7:35pm: Jahanbakhsh almost had deja vu and repeated his bicycle kick against Chelsea but it just goes above the bar. Not far away for Brighton.

7:39pm: The attendance at the Amex is 20,349.

7:47pm: SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY SUBSTITUTION: Reach comes off for Lees.

7:48pm: 4 minutes added.

7:50pm: Yellow card for Winnall.

7:51pm: FULL-TIME: Sheffield Wednesday came out the better side. My man of the match was originally Fletcher as I felt he had a great game. He was at the centre of all of Wednesday’s play and he was good in defense and attack. After he went pout, Reach played wonderful balls into the area and he was the source of Wednesday’s creativity and he then scored their winner so Reach is my man of the match. Brighton had their worst performance under Potter so far. It was disjointed and not the performance a Premier League side should’ve had. All credit to Sheffield Wednesday, they deserved to win therefore the better side won.
